About Christy:

Christy has over 15 years of experience as an Insurance Broker. The past decade has been spent in a management capacity, where she perfected operations and efficiencies. Her experience in working and managing brokerages covers traditional brokerages up to leading-edge digital brokerages.

She is very passionate and active in the insurance community. She started sharing this passion in the Young Broker Network committee that is part of IBANS. She was the Chair of the Young Broker Network from 2017-2018, and then she had the privileged to sit on the IBANS board of directors from 2018 – 2020. She stepped down to pursue her dream of launching QuickFacts. While she was on the board of directors with IBANS, she taught CAIB courses to help students on their path to gaining their CAIB designation.

Most importantly, she is referred to by industry friends and co-workers as an “Insurance Nerd.”

What three words would you use to describe mentorship?

Growth and Support

Why do you think mentorship matters in 2023?

Mentorship helps keep you focused and accountable and provides the guidance and support you need to keep moving forward or helps to know when to pivot.

Are there any mentorship programs you're aware of or participating that you'd like to share with the EnPoint community to show of how mentorship can be used to support all in building meaningful careers?

The mentorship programs that have benefited me the most in my entrepreneur journey over the past year have been, Grow Now - Centre for Women and Business, Propel - Traction and Growth cohorts and CDL - Prime Atlantic.

Is there a memorable "mentorship moment" you'd like to share?

There are so many it is hard to narrow it down to one, but I would say it is in your weakest moments to have someone you can go to that has experienced the pain point and help by listening or having a network connection that helps with this pain point.
