What three words would you use to describe mentorship?

Powerful, mutual, game changing

Why do you think mentorship matters in 2023?

I think mentorship is even more critical now, in the midst of so much incertainty than ever before. To have someone who has walked your path before there to guide you and give feedback, to shorten your learning curve, and to push you to grow is invaluable, Right now, when staying put feels easier and more certain than expanding yourself, you need a trusted advisor to help you on your way.

Are there any mentorship programs you're aware of or participating in that you'd like to share with the EnPoint community to show how mentorship can be used to support all in building meaningful careers?

I had the opportunity in my first few years of business to participate in a peer mentoring program offered by Women's Enterprise British Columbia (WEBC) It was a fantastic program which I was honored to come full circle with, and act as the facilitator for that same program last year, and guide other new women entrepreneurs through the process.

Is there a memorable "mentorship moment" you'd like to share?

A piece of advice my mentor gave me in that first WEBC program helped launch my business to the next level of success, and I repeat it often to other entrepreneurs. She asked me who my best client was. Who would I want 100 more of if I could have them? And then she told me to go out and replicate that one client. Stop trying to be all things to all people, and the expert in every new field I was selling to. Just focus on being the ideal supplier for that one client and find all the other clients that were just like them. It helped me grow my business exponentially over the next three years.
